There are 3 Congregations in Gadsden, meeting in one Hall that was built 4 years ago. The other 2 Halls were sold to pay for the new one.
Does it matter which one was the one where Ray Franz went?

I have yet to see a New Kingdom Hall or Renovation performed by the new LDC. Has anyone out there seen one?
I was told yesterday that all projects are on hold until the LDC gets it's crew together.

Today's Special Day Assembly Expenses and the $10,499 Deficit. Silent Majority?
by Tenacious intoday i attended a one-day assembly in my hometown.
i knew when it came time to read the afternoon expenses that it would be an incredibly high and ridiculous amount that was nowhere near the real expenses for that day.
sure enough, after lunch came the announcement.

I asked our Assembly Overseer about this and he said "The Branch raised our Assessment from 3.50 per publisher to 10.50 per pub, because this reflected the equal balance for our Branch as a whole". Everybody share the same costs!!! -

I've decided to make a difference that REALLY matters
by Mrs. Eden inhello friends!today is a sad day for me, as seven months have gone by since my mother passed away after a decades-long fight with breast cancer..
because the witnessing/preaching/teaching work doesn't make any sense to me anymore; because it's not about any "truth"; and because it's basically useless, i've decided to quit doing it.
instead, i've decided to do something that actually can make a real difference in other people's lives.

Millions Now Living by Punkofnice
by SecretSlaveClass ini recieved the book on friday afternoon and finished it last night.
i thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly experiences you won't find in the yearbook.
my wife is now reading it (she was never a zombie) and is finding the terms used by jws and their meanings in simple terms very helpful since she reads this forum even though she is not a participant.

How Scary Are Circuit Overseers Now?
by minimus inback in the day, when the co came to the congregation, it was quite stressful for the elders and often, the rank and file.
.
is it as big a deal as it used to be?.

Worse!
They have complete power now, no questions asked! They make all Appointments and Deletions, don't you dare question them. They have the same power as the Apostle Paul.

The elders of the 1980s are now in their 60s and 70s
by truthseeker inhaving just come back from the uk and spoke with some witnesses to find out how my old congregation is doing, i realized i am now the age that my elders were when i was a kid.
and i wonder what the elders who are now in their 60s and 70s are thinking when they look in the mirror and an old face looks back at them.
many of the elders in my old hall are now retired.

They are begging younger Brothers to "reach out".
We have 7 Elders; 2 in their 70's, 4 in the 60's and 1 in his 50's.

Why am I Renouncing My JW Faith...Part 5 and final
by tjlibre ini have expressed in this forum that sometimes im confused as to what will be my ultimate decision.
at this point in my life there is too much at stake.
first, my own emotional estate, ill hate to bitterly regret the years expend taking unnecessary emotional abuse and theocratic bulling.
